John Lizotte, of Lizotte Studios, PO Box 313, 567-274-8035, reported on the community garden meeting on his blog on his website. His wife, Noel writes a column "Apron Free Cooking" at the Galion Inquirer, and her cookbook, "Apron Free Cooking" is available on her website.

Rick Hickman, is the current administrator of Galion Garden Group blog that has information about aquaponic gardening that allows for year-round soil-less gardening. The Galion Community Gardens blog has been created to emphasize the multiple values of such a project, to publicize what others have done and the steps to structure a successful community garden.

Mayor Tom O’Leary has been very supportive of the concept of a Galion community garden. He participated in two Parks and Recreations committee meetings where Galion Garden Group made presentations, and has had individual meetings with several advocates.

MKB Farms is a small family farm in the Northeast corner of Marion County. They raise beef cattle, corn, beans, and wheat. The farm was started by Mike and Brenda Kocher and has grown over the years. Brenda is a brilliant enthusiastic, busy-busy superwoman! She has a working aquaponics system in a greenhouse on her farm in Galion. Her knowledge and expertise would be of value to both of our endeavors.
